Ouchie

  1. I chose to make the two outdoor/indoor cats into solid indoor cats only. However, I didn’t know the eldest cat (eighteen-years-old) would pee and poop in the hallway of the second floor. I placed numerous litter pads on the second floor. The second cat is locked in my room as she is more feral, and she needs to know that she is safe and where to poop and pee. (Eldest cat has been peeing in order to state dominance.) Yesterday, Whisper (the eldest cat) peed twice in the hallway — she did not even attempt to a litter box or a pad. Well, after 45 minutes of paper towels, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda — I gave up and got out the carpet cleaner. Well. Once I did the hallway, I decided to do the three flights of stairs.
  2. I soaked the stairs with a deep fabric cleaner — and, silly me, I fell down five flights of stairs. Thankfully, I just planted on my back and slid down. But I do feel like a bruised a few ribs and that I hyper-extended my left pinky. I am very bruised today and deep breaths hurt, but I do not feel anything broken.
  3. So, I cleaned the three flights of stairs and most of the carpet upstairs. It took hours. I was covered in sweat. I then found out that in the 17 years this person has been at this location, he has never cleaned the carpet. Not once. (That explains all the hair.)
  4. I blockaded off the hallway and moved the eldest cats litter box upstairs. (Just one pad and her litter box.)
  5. This morning was WONDERFUL! I got up and there was no urine on the floor. I didn’t have to scrub anything. Whisper had peed inside her liter box and not pooped anywhere on the floor.
