Day 1 (D1)

January 28th, 2023

We were up at 4AM. We went to Target and then worked out at the YMCA.

I have not decoded their shower system yet, but warm hot water was amaxing. We bought storage containers to fut in the car. Then we downsized all out stuff in the car. Now everything is in a bin and reachable. I bought a warm night suit.

Brook (the cat) drank water and is loving being pet.

Jerry told us to text the guy with the emergency housing. We did. No response.

I bought Nyquil … cause yeah.

We cleaned laundry. And we will probably run a dryer load after every YMCA — towel drilling issues.

We are getting shown the spare bathroom key lpckbox tonight. (As the guy with the key is house sitying the next two weeks and is noy going to be around.) That should help me survive …. and not have to repeat last night. Please God … may I never have to repeat last night.

Night 1 (N1)

January 28th, 2023

So there are 5 of us in this parking lot.

Bonus: There is a bar across the road behind us, so no cop disturbing. It is also very quiet.

Bad: the guy with the bathroom key is house sitting these next two weeks … and is not here.

other bad … it is 3 AM. I have to pee. YMCA doesn’t open until 8 AM.

Other bad: I am on my ladies time. However, we are on lists for emergency shelters.

Pray for me…

there is a mosquito …

Updates 2.0

January 19th, 2023
  1. I am officially off caffeine. (cheers) It was super difficult, but I no longer get headaches throughout the day and/or evening.
  2. I am dreaming a lot about trains (errrr riding in a train). It is odd. I do not remember many train dreams throughout my life. I think last night was the third night in a row.
  3. We have Whisper’s (the cat) date for surrender. She has a check-in appointment on the 27th. Oddly enough, that is the same day Dave’s eviction process returns to court. Looks like that is our move out date.

Surrender

January 18th, 2023

Dave and I woke up yesterday. I brought up the conversation first …. There is no way we can keep a 16-year-old cat with us in the car. None.
Dave said he woke up feeling the same way.

We are going to surrender her to a no-kill shelter. (I actually cannot find a kill shelter in Hawaii.) But Dave is going to pay for the cost to surrender her. Then we found out. There may not be any space. Now we are waiting the 72-hours until someone contacts him about that form.

And no one in the church will take her. I suggested putting her in a box outside the church on a Sunday morning. … “Please adopt me.” …

Funny how no one can give anything …

… More ironic. I never seem to go somewhere and it settles. I seem to bring destruction everywhere I go.

3 updates

January 17th, 2023
  1. This last weekend, we got everything out of the house and into a U-haul storage unit. My body is still very sore. Thankfully, we had 7 people show up to help us — 5 of which were very strong and from 2 different military branches. … Everything of value is out. Safely stored. And the U-haul guy was so awesome. He only charged me for a one day rental. And gave me a nice gas income back (as I got the truck on “E” and returned it over “1/2” full).
  2. We are currently living in the house still.
  3. Today I got my paperwork that showed I was enrolled in medicaid. I called to have the HMSA transferred to “Kaiser” only. (Kaiser is way better care overall. It might cost me a little each month, but the better health care and best emergency room on Oahu will be worth it.) I’ll be enrolled in Kaiser next month! (I am still currently enrolled in HMSA if a crisis happens. I doubt it will.)
