Whisper

October 18th, 2022

This is Whisper. She is 18-years-old. No teeth. Extremely territorial. She has renal failure. We are making her as comfortable as possible.

Yes. He bought me a copy of Gloomhaven: Jaws of the Lion.

Tigger

October 18th, 2022

My long term goal is to get Tigger here — Hawaii. Right now, the State of Hawaii will ONLY let “certified service animals” fly in on a commercial airline. Emotional support animals do NOT count as a certified service animal.

The only way to get Tigger here is to wait until Hawaii changes it protocols or fly him privately.

The bigger issue: Tigger is living indoors right next to my ex. And Lizzy (does everyone remember Lizzy? She is the brilliant little tuxedo rescue that climbs trees, loves to swim, leash trained and will poop and pee with other dogs.) Anyway, Ish leaves his backdoor open. Lizzy came in and found Tigger. Tigger was always her friend. She loved to cuddle him.

I just want to get Tigger out before my ex realizes Tigger is next door. I do not want to put more pressure on Ish. Ish has done so much for me.

Plan: Private company to fly Tigger out here. It’ll take a few thousand dollars. At least he has both of his shots. And, since we know he is coming — I can order that odd blood test for him and pay Ish to do it.

Ouchie

October 16th, 2022
  1. I chose to make the two outdoor/indoor cats into solid indoor cats only. However, I didn’t know the eldest cat (eighteen-years-old) would pee and poop in the hallway of the second floor. I placed numerous litter pads on the second floor. The second cat is locked in my room as she is more feral, and she needs to know that she is safe and where to poop and pee. (Eldest cat has been peeing in order to state dominance.) Yesterday, Whisper (the eldest cat) peed twice in the hallway — she did not even attempt to a litter box or a pad. Well, after 45 minutes of paper towels, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda — I gave up and got out the carpet cleaner. Well. Once I did the hallway, I decided to do the three flights of stairs.
  2. I soaked the stairs with a deep fabric cleaner — and, silly me, I fell down five flights of stairs. Thankfully, I just planted on my back and slid down. But I do feel like a bruised a few ribs and that I hyper-extended my left pinky. I am very bruised today and deep breaths hurt, but I do not feel anything broken.
  3. So, I cleaned the three flights of stairs and most of the carpet upstairs. It took hours. I was covered in sweat. I then found out that in the 17 years this person has been at this location, he has never cleaned the carpet. Not once. (That explains all the hair.)
  4. I blockaded off the hallway and moved the eldest cats litter box upstairs. (Just one pad and her litter box.)
  5. This morning was WONDERFUL! I got up and there was no urine on the floor. I didn’t have to scrub anything. Whisper had peed inside her liter box and not pooped anywhere on the floor.

To the beach!

October 11th, 2022

I went to the beach for the first time yesterday. The plan is to go 3x a week in the afternoons. (For exercise and relaxation.) The water is literally perfect.

Was a good day. We got up. He took me to a local breakfast place that had, in his opinion, the “best” Eggs Benedict. (The first time I had Eggs Benedict was on a trip in England for my school. The chef/cook owned a bed a breakfast and was taught how to make Eggs Benedict by her mum. She was in her late 60s at the time, so my first Eggs Benedict were perfection.)

But these were also phenomenal.

Then we came home and finished up the kitchen. (Sorting items, cleaning everything including the cupboards, and making a large donation pile.) It has been 15 years of collecting. I left him two formal dishware sets (stored in back cupboards.) He had like 6 silverware sets. Six! We took out his favorite one and stored the rest. It has taken almost two weeks to finish that project.

Now onto the dinning room, hallway and then the back lanai.
